Balance paid closer to travel

Start with the experience you want, then choose the month, route and budget that make it realistic. A thoughtful safari leaves time to watch wildlife rather than spending every day transferring between parks. Tell us your dates, party size, interests and comfortable spending limit before choosing stays.

01

Build a sensible route

Compare contrasting habitats and check the transfer time between them. Kenya can combine elephant country, a rhino conservancy and the Maasai Mara; Tanzania can link Tarangire, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. Choose fewer bases when your time is short, and add a beach finish only when the connections work.

02

Pack for the actual journey

Bring breathable layers, a fleece for dawn drives, closed shoes, sun protection, repellent and binoculars. Confirm the luggage allowance with each airline, especially on light aircraft, and use a soft bag where required. Ask about laundry and charging facilities at your named camps rather than assuming every property is identical.

03

Prepare safely

Visit a travel-health professional with your complete route, including transit countries and trekking plans. Confirm passport, entry and insurance requirements through official sources. Carry prescriptions in original packaging and keep copies of travel documents separately. Around wildlife, follow your guide, keep your distance and never feed animals.

04

Approve the details

Compare named stays, meal plans, guiding, transport and park fees, not simply the headline total. Starting estimates are not confirmed availability. Before payment, review the complete itinerary PDF and matching proforma invoice. If the journey exceeds your budget, ask about a different accommodation tier or fewer nights while keeping the experiences that matter most.

Questions about safari planning guide

Is the itinerary really free?

Yes. You receive a costed, day-by-day itinerary with no payment and no obligation. You only pay once you decide to secure the trip.

What does the quoted price include?

Accommodation, meals as listed, your private guide and vehicle, park and conservancy fees and the transfers or flights shown. Every inclusion and exclusion is listed line by line on your proforma.

How do I secure my safari?

A 50% deposit holds your camps and flights. The balance is due closer to departure, and we send reminders well ahead of the due date.

Can I change the itinerary?

Anything can change before you book: camps, number of nights, the order of parks, adding a beach finish or switching between luxury and ultra-luxury.

Is it a group tour?

No. Every journey is private — your own guide and vehicle, leaving when you are ready and stopping when you want.

Every Perch Africa journey is built from scratch.

Tell us your dates, your travelling party and your budget and we will come back with a costed itinerary, real camp availability and a clear price — no templates.
