Uganda

Luxury Uganda safaris

Gorillas at dawn in Bwindi, chimpanzees in Kibale and the Nile thundering through Murchison — travelled slowly, in lodges that hold only a handful of guests.

Balance paid closer to travel

Uganda rewards travellers who give it time. The country packs rainforest, savannah, crater lakes and the source of the Nile into a single loop, and the wildlife is unusually varied — mountain gorillas and chimpanzees in the same trip as elephant, lion and shoebill.

At the luxury level we work with a small number of owner-run lodges: forest suites on the Bwindi escarpment, tented camps looking over the Kazinga Channel, and riverside rooms at Murchison. Every trekking permit, ranger, porter and private guide is arranged before you arrive.

01

What a luxury Uganda trip includes

Our Uganda quotes are full board and cover the parts that most often go wrong when booked separately.

  • Gorilla and chimpanzee permits secured in your name well ahead of travel
  • A private 4x4 with a pop-top roof and your own driver-guide throughout
  • Park entry, ranger fees and community levies built into the price
  • Internal charter flights where the drive would cost you a day

02

How long you need

Five days covers Bwindi and a night either side of the trek. Eight days adds Kibale's chimpanzees and Queen Elizabeth. Twelve days takes in Murchison Falls and Kidepo, the wildest park in the country.

Trekking is physical: expect three to seven hours on steep, muddy forest trails. Porters are inexpensive, worth every shilling, and directly support the villages around the park.

03

When to travel

June to September and December to February are the drier windows, with firmer trails and easier photography. March to May brings heavy rain, lower lodge rates and forests at their greenest — a genuinely good trade if you are fit and flexible.

Permit availability, not weather, is usually the constraint. We advise booking six to nine months ahead for peak-season treks.

04

Combining Uganda

Uganda pairs naturally with Rwanda for a double gorilla experience, or with Kenya for a plains-and-forest contrast that finishes on the Indian Ocean.

Questions about luxury uganda safaris

Is the itinerary really free?

Yes. You receive a costed, day-by-day itinerary with no payment and no obligation. You only pay once you decide to secure the trip.

What does the quoted price include?

Accommodation, meals as listed, your private guide and vehicle, park and conservancy fees and the transfers or flights shown. Every inclusion and exclusion is listed line by line on your proforma.

How do I secure my safari?

A 50% deposit holds your camps and flights. The balance is due closer to departure, and we send reminders well ahead of the due date.

Can I change the itinerary?

Anything can change before you book: camps, number of nights, the order of parks, adding a beach finish or switching between luxury and ultra-luxury.

Is it a group tour?

No. Every journey is private — your own guide and vehicle, leaving when you are ready and stopping when you want.

Every Perch Africa journey is built from scratch.

Tell us your dates, your travelling party and your budget and we will come back with a costed itinerary, real camp availability and a clear price — no templates.
